Dear Children and Parents,
 
The fifth year of the Washington Hungarian School year, 2013/2014 is starting on Sunday, September 22 at 2pm.
The school is a result of the efforts of hard working parents, we are expecting everybody to contribute.

The school sessions are held at the Rockville Memorial Library, 21 Maryland Avenue, Rockville, MD.

Last year we added the folk dance class to our programs. We continue this program this year, Zsuzsa Seres will teach Hungarian folk dances like last year, folk songs after the classes at the Rocvkille Memorial Library between 4 and 5pm.

The Fall semester begins on September 22, 2012 at our  location, Rockville Memorial Library from 2 pm to 5 pm. The registration will also take place on this day. We continue the folk dance class started last year.  See the dates under the Calendar. We welcome everyone for the semester!!

The Spring semester begins on February 3, 2013 at our  location, Rockville Memorial Library from 2 pm to 4 pm. The registration will also take place on this day. We welcome everyone for the semester!!
During the Fall semester, the classes will be every second week. Please, check the Calendar.

There is no Hungarian school on this Sunday (09/23). Next school day will be on 9/29.

We are happy to announce that we have the new place fro the school at Rockville Memorial Library. The Spring semester begins on February 5, 2012 at our new location from 2 pm to 4 pm.

Good news. This Sunday (10/16) the Hungarian classes will be held at Rockville Memorial Library (99 Maryland Avenue, Rockville, Maryland 20850) same time as usual.

Till further notice, there won't be shcool on Sundays! We are looking for an appropiate place where we can provide high level education for the children.

2011/2012 School Year

The school year begins on September 18, 2011 at the same location from 2 pm to 4 pm. The registration will also take place on this day. We welcome everyone for the upcoming school year!!
Please refer to the Calendar for the 2011/2012 Fall-Winter class schedules.
We ask all the students and parents to please bring with them for each class the following supplies:

School Age Group:

  • Lined notebook
  • Pencil/Pen
  • Colored Pencils or Crayons
  • Scissors
  • Glue
  • Construction Paper
The school aged group will be using the "Gogos Gunar Gedeon" and "Moso Masa Mosodaja" titled reading books this school year. Please bring them with you for each class as well.

There are currently 26 children enrolled in the school, consisting of 14 children in the kindergarten group (ages 2 -5) and 12 in the school age group (ages 6-16 years of age).

In September, the 2010/2011 school year began with old and new students.  Based on last year's experiences we have developed new lesson plans

The First Washington DC Metro Area Hungarian School and Pre-School can now be reached through the internet.  The current website contains important information about the school.  The construction of the website is under development and will be refreshed continuously with information abou thte school's operation and upcoming events.
